I recently had a brilliant idea – since MiraDry is one of the most promising treatment options for underarm Hyperhidrosis (non invasive, permanent etc), won't it be great to have someone from the company explain the treatment to the patients it caters (i.e. Hyperhidrosis Patients)?

I thought so. So, I wrote to MiraDry (yes, I do that often – writing to people who don't know me) and asked them for a brief interview to help me understand the treatment better, and perhaps spread the word about the procedure.

This is what I wrote:

Hello XXX,

…I run a Hyperhidrosis focused website www.hyperhidrosisnetwork.com. The site provides objective information to Hyperhidrosis patients community, as well as a support group and forum for patients to discuss their condition and treatment options with each other.

I am writing to you to invite the suitable person at MiraDry for an interview on our website. I am sure our community would like to learn firsthand about MiraDry. The interview would be questionnaire based where I will send you the questions and would appreciate the first hand information on the treatment that many are discussing on our website.

Please let me know if you would be interested. If yes, I will send over the questionnaire to you.

My Email To Miradry #2

Encouraged, I sent her a list of things I wanted to know

  • how it works
  •  the cost,
  • success rate,
  • side effect,
  • comparison with other options (antiperspirants, ETS etc),
  • Where should they go to get this treatment
  • How to get this financed by insurance
  • Any way to reduce the cost (if insurance is not paying) – e.g coupons/discounts etc (I don't know if that is a possibility, but wanted to throw that out)
  • Can it be done cheaper overseas
  • How to identify a good facility for getting this procedure done

Since Then

That was bout 10 days back. Since then.. nada, nothing, zilch! Not even an email saying why they wont talk to me.

I sincerely wish that in today's day and age, when its so simple to connect with your customers, companies consider internet as a more serious medium to really connect with the customers. Isn't that so much more powerful than plastering irritating advertisements all over the website?

However, I am an optimist – if I hear back from MiraDry, I will let you know. Keep tuned!
