Hi there
I have tried the scalp and facial iontophoresis “pads”. I look like leather face from texas chainsaw massacre with them on. Paid £600 for them with a 100% guarantee they wwould work. Tried them as advised but noticed no difference whatsoever and the metal electrodes burned my temples through the foam pads. Other people may have had success but not for me. Interestingly I spoke to my doctor about it (skin specialist) and he seemed to think iontophoresis doesn’t work full stop and is a bit of a myth which surprised me. Sorry this probably not what you wanted to here but I’m only going off my personal experience

Hi jessica
I have scalp and facial iontophoresis foam pads. I look like leather face from texas chainsaw massacre with them on! I bought them for £600 with a 100% guaranteed success rate promised. I used them as advised but noticed no difference in my HH. The metal plates actually caused a small amount of damage to the skin on my temples. Interestingly after using it I spoke with my HH doctor (skin specialist UK NHS) and told him about using the the device and he seemed to think iontophoresis was a myth and had no basis in sscience which surprised me as online it is referred to as an accepted treatment. Sorry if its not the answer you wanted. They may work for you but they are expensive if they don’t work. Any other questions let me know

I tried ionto for my head and still using machine for scalp area. Completely wet scalp adapter, soaked hair, power 5mA and very good results. It is working! It is not uncomfortable like someone would be say, I like my set, easy to use. This definitely helped me. If you want to tried it, take a look for electro antiperspirant device, like one of other brand you can use this machine for scalp.

Hi, I also have sweaty scalp, especially when the weather is hot. But even on cold weather I still sweat. This really annoys me a lot. I cannot do what a normal person can do. I cannot recite on class without the sweat running through my head. I have read that in iontophoresis, you will place the affected body part in a basin of water. Then your healthcare provider will then turn on the machine and increase the current until you feel a slight tingling sensation on your skin. I understand that this will not cause any pain, but I cannot imagine doing this on my head.

Hi,
Here are my advice for those who have hyperhidrosis. Try to avoid situations or foods that trigger sweating. Example of triggers are crowded rooms, caffeine, alcohol and spicy foods. Wearing cotton and light clothing also helps most of the time. Taking frequent showers and drinking plenty of water is also encouraged specially in scalp sweating. And also avoid wearing caps. I understand that scalp sweating is more frustrating than any other body parts sweating but you will be able control it. You may also consider Botox. It is covered by most insurance companies. Surgery is the last resort.
