Hello Jason,
My name is Mark, I am 33, and I am a chronic case of hyperhydrosis of the body (palms, underarms, groin, behind the knee, feet), and will sweat with merely an emotion. I sypathise with you, like you my schooling and socialising suffered from Hyperhydrosis. I had a calculator case that was made of thick cotton that I would use to sit my palm on when writing. If you would like to know more, even personal questions I am very happy to answer for you even for the whole world to know, for I am not ashamed of what I am, or take offence of this condition anymore.
Here are my attempts to stop hyperhydrosis. I have tried antiperspirants which had nill affect. I have tried Botox on the hands and underarms. And in a nutshell, didn't do enough. The underarms have calmed a little and only lasts about 3months, which is the minimum time between the injections (in ‘normal' people it lasts up to 7 months). Hyperhydrosis of the underarms affects 2/3 people and is recognised by the FDA and funded by Australian health care. The Botox in the hands was to messy, for a better word, tho it stopped a lot of the sweating on the palm but not the finger tips, around my fingers, or the side of my palm. So in conclusion, for me the injections were too messy and did not do a good enough job. I can only imagine the feet would be the same.
I am about to make my own iontopherosis machine to trial the effects of numbing the nerves with a small electrical current, sounds shocking, but I have researched a lot about it and am excited to give it a go. If you are under the legal age where ever you are, I recommend you do this under supervision as a science experiment.
In closing, I have excepted my fate and grown to understand the benefits of hyper sweating. Sweating is very good for the human body, especially with the foods we are consuming these days, and for this I am thankful for the young and ripped body I have today with little effort of my own. And research will tell you that the more you sweat the more toxins you release and thus can slow the down the aging affects on the body. Be warned, I have not heard many good reports of patients who have had the ETS, it is irreversible and many side affects. Sadly they have not perfected this yet.
