Hey, I'm pretty much a newbie, only been doing iontophoresis for months now, but here it is: I think it took me about 5 weeks to get everything working just right.

My iontophoresis device is Idrostar + and it is supposed to be a high profile device. In my experience, despite that, it did take some getting used to, and for a while even after I started with the treatments, I would still sweat too much. After 5 weeks, everything finally fell in its place: I got rid of sweaty hands, and pretty much I also got rid of sweaty feet. 🙂

So, to answer your question, I would say that it took me 5 weeks to get the most out of iontophoresis. You can read more about me here. 🙂

        Hey Vivian, I'm back!

Just wanted to update this thread by saying that in the end I chose Idrostar +. In these past couple of months, it really made a difference, especially on my palms! 😀

So, to me, iontophoresis seems like the way to go if you want to get rid of sweating – or at least that was my experience. I even volunteered to blog about it, so if you want to read my story in more detail, you can do so here. 🙂

Anyway, in the end I would say that Idrostar + is good enough for effective iontophoresis – so maybe there's no need for buying the most expensive Idrostar model anyway? Just saying, in case somebody else here is having these doubts. 😉

        Cheers!

The applicator you linked looks like it could get the job done if you can firmly adjust it to your body. Definitely ask someone to assist you (a family member..?) The same person can also make sure that your applicator is properly wet, and to adjust the voltage and everything after you lie down.

        Good luck with this! 🙂

Thank you! I added you to my friends list and I'm looking forward to your messages. 😉
Ah and you're still young, don't let heavy sweating affect your life too much. Everyone has flaws and problems, even people who are not sweating profusely… Nobody is perfect so there's no need to be nervous about your excess sweating. Remember that. 🙂

Awesome, let me know how it goes! It takes some getting used to since the “feel” is definitely not the same when holding the controller/using keyboard over the wrap with sweaty palms – it's sometimes even slippery if you are sweating profusely. Still, it's a relief not having to trap my sweaty hands into gloves. And replacing wrap is much easier than cleaning the controller from sweat. 😛

As someone who had Botox treatments for axillary hyperhidrosis in the past, I'm really excited about this! 😯
Unfortunately, this is the first time I hear about this type of hyperhidrosis treatment, and at the moment I am trying to find more information online, without any real success. Even at the Alma Lasers official website, this here is the best piece of information I could find. It seems that Laser Botox treatment is very, very new. Maybe in the future we'll hear more about it.

Hi. My opinion is that MD-1a leaves much to be desired. I sweat a lot and I used both R.A. Fischers and MD-2 is a huge improvement – just look at those listed features carefully and you'll understand what I mean if you think about it for a moment. An iontophoresis machine is something you'll have to use indefinitely if you want to stop sweating. It comes down to this: invest more now, and you'll be glad you did every time you have a hyperhidrosis treatment later. 😀

Btw, only buy an iontophoresis machine if you're willing to commit yourself to it – it takes some discipline to make it completely stop excessive sweating.
