I don't think it's really possible to ultimately answer your question. As you say yourself, everyone's burden is the heaviest one to that particular person… And not every palmar hyperhidrosis is the same. Someone with very sweaty hands will have worse hyperhidrosis than the patient with mild axillary hyperhidrosis; but on the other hand, horribly sweaty underarms can be worse than mildy sweaty hands…

Also, another factor is a suitable hyperhidrosis treatment. I have palmar hyperhidrosis, and I am thankful at least that it can be relatively easily treated with iontophoresis for sweaty hands. Head sweating, or even underarm sweating are not that easy to treat, I think. So you see, there are many factors here… And to be honest, maybe it really is in poor taste to discuss which type of hyperhidrosis is the worst. We are all in this together. Let all hyperhidrosis be equally ‘bad'. 🙂

Hi, Andrew, I'm glad to hear you have a good method of keeping hyperhidrosis at bay. 🙂

Is your electro antiperspirant the same as the one mentioned in this thread: http://hyperhidrosisnetwork.com/forums/topic/any-thoughts-on-iontophoresis-electro-antiperspirant/ ?

Does it work just like iontophoresis for sweaty hands, or is electro antiperspirant different in some significant way? I might try this too someday…

        And to JennyDale:
Yes, I am worried now that this problem might be simply impossible to solve at the moment, but I hope that it's only temporary. I can live with sweaty hands for a while, but I'd hate this to become permanent. Well, at least there are other types of hyperhidrosis treatment so I can always hope to find the same old success with something new.

No first-hand experience on my part, but I can tell you to look around the website and you'll see that Drionic has a special device for treating axillary hyperhidrosis. From the photos, their armpit applicators look practical and easy to hold in place. If that's the case, maybe the treatments are effective?

Well, that's my two cents on this. 🙂

Isn't Drionic even lighter? Like, it weighs 2 pounds or something like that? Drionic is also significantly cheaper than Idromed, so that's another plus if you are on a tight budget. The quality is not quite top notch, but you could still get results. 🙂

I'm not an expert on this, though, so take my suggestions with a grain of salt. 🙂

This is really good. 😮 😀
I think the Internet is swamped with advices on playing video games with sweaty palms etc, but I think 90% of those advices simply tells people to use gloves, antiperspirants and other treatments… Basically it all comes down to good old “how to not sweat” instead of focusing on this specific situation. It's refreshing to see a different approach! I will try this out. 😀

She is a gymnast so she gets cracks and rips on her hands all the time they suggested putting petroleum jelly on it before treatment and that works like a charm.

This is interesting – I never thought of that! Covering my hands with petroleum jelly sounds like something that could ease the sensitivity of my skin too… Because, the more I think about it, the more it seems to me that the problem wasn't in the iontophoresis machine I used, but in my sensitivity. I should also check with my friend and see what type of iontophoresis machine he used on me. I'm pretty sure it wasn't Hidrex… maybe I really should try Hidrex or some other high-end brand. 🙂

Casper you're a genious – I love the cooling gel packs tip! 💡 😀 Why on earth haven't I thought of that??
Do you have any particular cooling gels to recommend?
I would like to try homemade gel packs and save money in the long run, but that's probably not a good idea given that I don't want to risk wet pockets or gels that will warm up too quickly. WHat do you think?

        @ Elena
I will definitely buy Sage tea asap!

Iontophoresis is not for me, and antiperspirants are only partially effective. So, before I turn to more aggressive methods to stop sweating, I want to explore the alternative field. It's all quite unknown to me. Also, I would love to hear about alternative treatments that work for palmar hyperhidrosis. 🙂

Yoga seems unpractical for sweaty palms, though. Can you even wear gloves while exercising?

Allegedly, Botox treatments that deal with sweaty hands can be very painful. Does anyone know about this firsthand? (Ouch, pun NOT intended!) Since hands have high concentration of nerves, the resulting pain seems likely. Apart from that, I wonder if there's a risk of permanent nerve damage? 😐
I know, I know, you'll say I'm being paranoid. Sigh, when are they going to invent a perfect sweaty palms cure…

My hands are too sensitive for this, which is a real pity. I had this type of hyperhidrosis treatment twice and didn't like it. There was this uncomfortable tingling that freaked me out a little. Felt like I'm about to get electrocuted! 😕

To be fair, the skin around my fingernails is often damaged, so it is likely that this caused me discomfort. Also, iontophoresis was performed on me by an experienced friend who owns an iontophoresis machine. Maybe I should visit a real physician about this… yet somehow I'm repelled by the idea since my last experiences were bad.
