jessie started the topic (In)curable? in the forum MiraDry Forum 10 years, 5 months ago
It always brings me down when I start thinking or reading about hyperhidrosis, and wherever I look, there’s this word etched into my mind: INCURABLE. It feels so sick, having this sort-of incurable illness, although it doesn’t really feel like an illness and calling it incurable just seems weird and wrong for some reason.
With miraDry I get the…[Read more]

Any ideas how to deal with the excessive sweat on the couch and the chairs?
I recently threw my old couch, the surface of which was made of fabric that was nearly impossible to wash and made me very warm and sweatier than usual. After that, I bought an eco-leather couch that is super easy to clean and wash, but I overlooked one awful thing:…[Read more]

Jenny, do you think I could use Maxim Sensitive wipes for non-facial sweating? Or would it be better if I dealt with excessive sweat on non-sensitive skin with regular Maxim Wipes? If you used other types of wipes from this brand, please let me know. Because, as you just illustrated, it can be tricky to listen to random reviews online, or even…[Read more]

jessie started the topic Improvements, anyone? 🙂 in the forum Hyperhidrosis Forum 10 years, 6 months ago
My excessive sweat is not so bad recently! I guess my glands got shy, heh. 😀
I tried combining a lot of milder treatments, from special nutrients to antiperspirants, and I am not sure what worked actually, but I feel better! It is possible that this is not due to a particular hyperhidrosis treatment, but is instead simply the case because I feel…[Read more]

Lucas started the topic miraDry now available in more countries! in the forum MiraDry Forum 10 years, 7 months ago
So far, miraDry was available only in the few countries outside U.S. – Japan, Korea and Canada.
Well, I just found out on miraDry website that this is no longer the case! Now, several more countries have physicians who offer this hyperhidrosis treatment for underarms. The complete list now goes like…[Read more]

Hi Florence!
I’ve just read your hyperhidrosis story and in one place you wrote:
I wanted something that will cure me – something that will let me forget that I ever had hyperhidrosis.
So, what I’d like to know is: did this wish of yours come true? Did miraDry really help you forget you have (or should I say had?) hyperhidrosis ?
Apart f…[Read more]

I did some decent amount of research on miraDry a while back, and unfortunately, now it definitely is not an option for sweaty hands.
To make things simple, I looked up a clear explanation online. Here is the link.
The surgeon basically says that in order to treat your sweat glands, miraDry first uses vacuum to separate your skin from your…[Read more]

Lucas replied to the topic How long did it take you to get the most out of Iontophoresis? in the forum Iontophoresis Forum 10 years, 9 months ago
Hey, I’m pretty much a newbie, only been doing iontophoresis for months now, but here it is: I think it took me about 5 weeks to get everything working just right.
My iontophoresis device is Idrostar + and it is supposed to be a high profile device. In my experience, despite that, it did take some getting used to, and for a while even after I…[Read more]

Hi, I’m Steve. I have been living with hyperhidrosis for many years, without even knowing that I have it. It wasn’t a medical thing before, or at least none of my doctors showed a lot of concern about […]

Mary-Jane Thompson started the topic Sweat Cost Calculator on miraDry Website in the forum MiraDry Forum 10 years, 9 months ago
This is scary!!
I’m thinking about undergoing a miraDry procedure for my underarm sweating. And, while surfing on their website, I found this simple, and yet telling “sweat cost calculator”.
It’s upsetting to see the costs summed up like that. And, keep in mind that I already have a Hidrex iontophoresis device – I did not even include the cost…[Read more]

I’m seeing someone. It’s been several casual dates so far, but things are slowly progressing and I know I won’t be able to hide my condition forever. I need advice on how to deliver the news – how to confess that I have hyperhidrosis.
So far it’s been easy to hide it because I have axillary hyperhidrosis – so, it’s not very visible. My hands and…[Read more]

Hey Vivian, I’m back!
Just wanted to update this thread by saying that in the end I chose Idrostar +. In these past couple of months, it really made a difference, especially on my palms! 😀
So, to me, iontophoresis seems like the way to go if you want to get rid of sweating – or at least that was my experience. I even volunteered to blog about…[Read more]

Steve started the topic Petroleum jelly and alternatives in the forum Iontophoresis Forum 11 years, 3 months ago
Hi,
I have started doing iontophoresis for underarms, but have problems wits occasional skin lesions. Now, the manual says I should use petroleum jelly in those spots, but I really can’t stand the smell of it. I know, it’s not a particularly strong smell, but I really find it repulsive. Since petroleum jelly is specific and cannot be replaced…[Read more]
