Toby replied to the topic Renting an Iontophoresis Machine – Yes or No? in the forum Iontophoresis Forum 10 years ago
In my experience, renting a Fischer Galvanic was a wise call. It removed the fear of “what if I throw my money away”, and it alleviated all worries my wife had about the effect a bought iontophoresis device would have on our monthly budget.
This way, it was one small cost to begin with, and after proving itself as a wise investment, buying…[Read more]

First of all, I love this video on how to make your own iontophoresis machine. I makes the whole process seem incredibly easy, to the point where I was left wondering why don't more people opt for homemade devices… (But yes, I know, portability is a big issue with homemade iontophoresis.)
I would like to know how long the battery life is in…[Read more]

Toby replied to the topic Low-voltage current VS. High-voltage current in the forum Iontophoresis Forum 10 years, 7 months ago
I think you should just stick with what you know. If iontophoresis currently works for you and you are satisfied and have no side-effects, why should you risk wrecking that balance? If you start sweating profusely again, it might take you weeks to get back at where you are now. Just my two cents! 🙂

Sean M. started the topic Driclor skin irritation in the forum Antiperspirants Forum 10 years, 7 months ago
After a month of using Driclor, I started having trouble with skin irritation. I have been using Driclor solution with a roll-on applicator (so nothing special, really). This is the first time that I had this kind of trouble and it is a little discouraging. I suppose I should just switch to a different antiperspirant brand (or even iontophoresis),…[Read more]

Sean M. replied to the topic Any thoughts on "Iontophoresis Electro Antiperspirant"? in the forum Iontophoresis Forum 10 years, 7 months ago
What do you mean being mentioned? Where?
In any case, I saw the website and visited their Facebook page. Their adaptors for face and underarm actually look pretty good and if this worked it could be one of the more versatile iontophoresis machines. The main problem, as I see it, is that this is new, and I can't find users' feedback that would…[Read more] -
Twinkle started the topic Fictional Characters with Hyperhidrosis? in the forum Hyperhidrosis Forum 10 years, 7 months ago
Here's a strange topic for conversation… but I really am curious. Actually no – I'm desperate to find a piece of fiction where a character has hyperhidrosis. And by that character I mean a protagonist, a hero, a heroine… you get it.
Whenever I encounter a fictional character who sweats a lot (in series, movies, books…) those characters are…[Read more]

Here you can post recommendations for interesting, useful, practical books on hyperhidrosis or (excessive) sweating in general. Post about anything you think is good or resourceful and might come in handy in any way.
I would personally love a well-written interesting book about hyperhidrosis that I could shove into other people's hands when I…[Read more]

Curious to hear if there are any miraculous success stories about acupuncture and hyperhidrosis. 🙂
There are some good reports online, but some people also write that it can be unpleasant or painful. My impression is also that acupuncture can be unreliable, so in theory you don't have guaranteed results – a thing that can be taxing in the long…[Read more] -

jessie replied to the topic Is your family supportive? in the forum Hyperhidrosis Forum 10 years, 7 months ago
The more I talk to them about it, the more supportive they are. They weren't at first, something that made me sad and only fed my anxiety, but now it is slowly getting better. My dad still has suspicions that it's “all in my head”, and that somehow I should just decide to stop sweating and things will get better lol. My mom explored some…[Read more]

Found out about a big problem I might have if I want to treat my sweating with iontophoresis. As the title says, I'm a nail biter. It helps me cope with anxiety and nervousness.. I know it's disgusting and a bad habit and all that. I have been trying to quit several times and succeeded, but recently I got hooked again and it's the worst thing…[Read more]

This is very useful. Thank you. 😉
I don't typically feel like using face wipes – and I don't really need them, but recently I started running in the mornings. (Well to be fair, it's really slow jogging…) So, my facial sweating got worse, and since I don't like wearing a headband, I will buy Maxim wipes and hopefully they will reduce my head sweating. 🙂 -
Twinkle replied to the topic Where do you buy these devices? in the forum Iontophoresis Forum 10 years, 7 months ago
Many places to choose from. Usually you can find standard prices at official websites, and cheaper ones on websites like e-bay if you get lucky. When it comes to official sites, I think this is Hidrex manufacturer website, and this here is Idromed website. Yeah, I hope you can read German lol. Just kidding – you can switch the language to English…[Read more]

Hello James, welcome to the site!
I have an idea regarding availability of Hidrex – did you try buying it through e-bay or a similar website? Someone could be selling a used machine… Just an idea. 🙂 And I hope you'll find a way to treat your hands without harming your skin.

jessie started the topic ETS is risky? So why do people do it? in the forum Hyperhidrosis Surgery Forum 10 years, 7 months ago
There are whole websites out there (like no-ets.com for example) dedicated to convincing desperate hyperhidrosis sufferers to avoid ETS. This leaves me completely confused… If ETS is so risky and can have bad consequences, then why does anyone do it?
Or is this just a case of bad PR? Like, people who get happily cured leave the realm of online…[Read more]

I didn't take that test there. Is it about social anxiety or just general anxiety?
Ramona, did you learn anything useful from those test results?Anyone else here coping with anxiety along with hyperhidrosis?
