Ramona started the topic Rubbing Alcohol and Cotton Pads Trick in the forum Antiperspirants Forum 10 years, 8 months ago
I started doing something very simple (and maybe a little silly) to get rid of the awful sweat odor on my underarms.
When I sweat, even if I use antiperspirants or deodorants, the odor can get pretty bad… In some situations, when I am not at home, I tried doing a quick wash up (with wet pads) in the bathroom or re-applying the deodorant.…[Read more]

Man, people can be so insensitive! π
Can’t you see the woman is terrified? And you’re just advising her to shrug it off and boldly spill everything out!? π
Mary-Jane, I think you should wait until you feel comfortable to talk about hyperhidrosis with him. Let’s be realistic. We all know how important first impressions areβ¦ π There is a…[Read more]

Ramona started the topic Inspirational Hyperhidrosis Videos in the forum Hyperhidrosis Forum 10 years, 9 months ago
I am writing this because I discovered a video that truly inspired me, in a way.
This is the video (a Youtube link)
Being anxious as hell in real life, and especially in front of the cameras, I was amazed to see this young, pretty girl, who practically looks my age or somewhere there, to speak out so openly about her painful hyperhidrosis…[Read more]

Ramona started the topic Where do you buy these devices? in the forum Iontophoresis Forum 11 years, 3 months ago
What are the best vendors for buying a iontophoresis device? Are there some shops where you live, and then you just walk in and buy one? Or is the whole thing exclusively online? I think I saw that some brands have their own official sites (Fischer and Drionic, I think), but for some of them (like iontophoresis-device) I am not sure if that’s THE…[Read more]

Doesn’t sound good. I think I can kiss Botox goodbye. Oh well. I just read so many stories about people who got SO much better from Botox and were then dry for months and months… I would love to try this someday, I think. Maybe when I’m older. π

Ramona started the topic Botox health insurance coverage? in the forum Botox For Hyperhidrosis Forum 11 years, 4 months ago
Are Botox hyperhidrosis treatments something a common health insurance policy would cover? For example, if the treatment is recommended by a physician and seems like the best or most efficient way to cure the problem?
I am afraid that Botox has a terrible stigma as Hollywood’s favorite poison – what if this makes it an undesirable (luxury) option…[Read more]

Ramona replied to the topic Tea Recommendations for Hyperhidrosis in the forum Alternative Treatment Forum 11 years, 4 months ago
I’d like to hijack this thread and add an additional question: can you please add, when listing recommendations, if these teas can be taken without sugar? For some reason I can’t stand tea with sugar – I only drink those that are tasty even without any kind of sweeteners.
Elena, are any of brands you tried tasty enough to be taken without sugar?…[Read more]

Ramona started the topic Antiperspirants with a nice scent? in the forum Antiperspirants Forum 11 years, 4 months ago
All professional antiperspirants I used so far had some kind of bland scent… Or even worse, a non-existent or unpleasant scent. :/
Maybe I am way too picky, but it would be really nice to find a clinical antiperspirant that actually has a nice, pleasant, feminine scent. I don’t like strong perfumes, and before I started having problems with…[Read more]

Ramona replied to the topic What's Your Hyperhidrosis Story? in the forum Hyperhidrosis Forum 11 years, 4 months ago
As you can see from my earlier posts, I’m something of a nervous freak and often get sweaty when feeling anxious. This sweat is too excessive to be normal, so I pretty much have some kind of hyperhidrosis.
Typically I have excess sweat on my underarms and face, but other areas (like hands) can be affected also.
This all started a few years back,…[Read more] -

Hi,
I would love to learn more about oral medication for hyperhidrosis and I have no idea where to start. Is this even a good method to stop excessive sweating?
For the last couple of days I’ve been trying to learn if meds make a good excessive sweating treatment and still don’t know what to think about it.
Seems like the downside are possible…[Read more]-
What kind of hh do you have? I took oxybutinin which is a generic used for incontinence I believe (I didn’t have that issue but it has a drying effect, I’d say its somewhat helpful but its not a miracle by any means!

my opinion is that a good Yoga instructor is invaluable. DVDs can hardly replace a real live class
Even when I’m not sweating too much, I don’t feel comfortable in rooms full of people, which is why I would prefer taking Yoga lessons at home. I can imagine a lot of people are sweating a lot during Yoga classes, but even with that I think that…[Read more]

Ramona replied to the topic How to deal with rude people in the forum Hyperhidrosis Forum 11 years, 5 months ago
This is why strangers make me nervous. I just tend to avoid people I don’t know, especially if I’m sweating profusely and drawing additional attention to myself. All of us sweating too much should stick together! As for the topic question… I deal with rude people by avoiding them. Even if I don’t know how to prevent sweating, I know how to…[Read more]

Ramona replied to the topic Do I have hyperhidrosis? in the forum Hyperhidrosis Forum 11 years, 6 months ago
From the looks of it, perhaps I do not have hyperhidrosis after all… In my case, every episode of profuse sweating gets triggered by increased nervousness and anxiety. When this happens, I have problems with everything: excessive armpit sweating, excessive head sweating… I also tend to get sweaty palms and feet – and especially palms.…[Read more]

Hi Sean, can you please tell me if Yoga has a calming effect on you? I mean, psychologically? Apparently Yoga can be used to achieve mild forms of meditation, and it seems like something that could give me peace, and at the same time keep me from sweating too much.
Umm, but I wouldn’t really like taking Yoga classes… the idea makes me…[Read more] -

I finally found the time to check this link out and I even solved the anxiety test over there. Is says I suffer from moderate general anxiety. When it comes to specific anxiety levels, social anxiety and agoraphobia are severe. I am not surprised by this. ^__^
It also says:
It’s hard for you to enjoy life on any consistent level. You’re hardly…
