jessie started the topic (In)curable? in the forum MiraDry Forum 9 years, 9 months ago
It always brings me down when I start thinking or reading about hyperhidrosis, and wherever I look, there's this word etched into my mind: INCURABLE. It feels so sick, having this sort-of incurable illness, although it doesn't really feel like an illness and calling it incurable just seems weird and wrong for some reason.
With miraDry I get the…[Read more]

Twinkle replied to the topic Iontophoresis machines and international voltage in the forum Iontophoresis Forum 9 years, 9 months ago
Voltage issue can be settled very easily. Just buy a simple voltage converter that transforms your household's electrical current into the type that is required by your iontophoresis machine. 🙂
These converters are pretty cheap and can be bought all over the world, so I think you're set and I wish you best of luck in getting rid of sweaty hands…[Read more]

Twinkle replied to the topic Shocks during Iontophoresis treatment in the forum Iontophoresis Forum 9 years, 10 months ago
What is the name of your iontophoresis machine? Usually iontophoresis for hyperhidrosis should be without any shocks, but I don't understand what you mean by “automatic” iontophoresis… From the way you describe it, it doesn't sound like any of the devices I heard of. Unfortunately, it's possible that the device you bought is simply not good, and…[Read more]

jessie started the topic Improvements, anyone? 🙂 in the forum Hyperhidrosis Forum 9 years, 10 months ago
My excessive sweat is not so bad recently! I guess my glands got shy, heh. 😀
I tried combining a lot of milder treatments, from special nutrients to antiperspirants, and I am not sure what worked actually, but I feel better! It is possible that this is not due to a particular hyperhidrosis treatment, but is instead simply the case because I feel…[Read more]

Twinkle started the topic Hot Yoga in the forum Alternative Treatment Forum 10 years ago
Are you practitioning hot yoga of any kind? I would love to share my yoga experiences with another hyperhidrosis patient. 🙂
First some info: Bikram Yoga is probably the most popular type of hot yoga, but it is by no means the only one. Hot yoga is basically any yoga that is being practitioned in a room with high temperature, ideally set at…[Read more]

Twinkle started the topic Fictional Characters with Hyperhidrosis? in the forum Hyperhidrosis Forum 10 years, 7 months ago
Here's a strange topic for conversation… but I really am curious. Actually no – I'm desperate to find a piece of fiction where a character has hyperhidrosis. And by that character I mean a protagonist, a hero, a heroine… you get it.
Whenever I encounter a fictional character who sweats a lot (in series, movies, books…) those characters are…[Read more]

Twinkle started the topic Interesting Books on Hyperhidrosis in the forum Hyperhidrosis Forum 10 years, 7 months ago
Here you can post recommendations for interesting, useful, practical books on hyperhidrosis or (excessive) sweating in general. Post about anything you think is good or resourceful and might come in handy in any way.
I would personally love a well-written interesting book about hyperhidrosis that I could shove into other people's hands when I…[Read more]

jessie started the topic Acupuncture in the forum Alternative Treatment Forum 10 years, 7 months ago
Curious to hear if there are any miraculous success stories about acupuncture and hyperhidrosis. 🙂
There are some good reports online, but some people also write that it can be unpleasant or painful. My impression is also that acupuncture can be unreliable, so in theory you don't have guaranteed results – a thing that can be taxing in the long…[Read more] -

jessie replied to the topic Is your family supportive? in the forum Hyperhidrosis Forum 10 years, 7 months ago
The more I talk to them about it, the more supportive they are. They weren't at first, something that made me sad and only fed my anxiety, but now it is slowly getting better. My dad still has suspicions that it's “all in my head”, and that somehow I should just decide to stop sweating and things will get better lol. My mom explored some…[Read more]

jessie started the topic Nail Biting and Iontophoresis in the forum Iontophoresis Forum 10 years, 7 months ago
Found out about a big problem I might have if I want to treat my sweating with iontophoresis. As the title says, I'm a nail biter. It helps me cope with anxiety and nervousness.. I know it's disgusting and a bad habit and all that. I have been trying to quit several times and succeeded, but recently I got hooked again and it's the worst thing…[Read more]

Twinkle replied to the topic Maxim Wipes in the forum Antiperspirants Forum 10 years, 7 months ago
This is very useful. Thank you. 😉
I don't typically feel like using face wipes – and I don't really need them, but recently I started running in the mornings. (Well to be fair, it's really slow jogging…) So, my facial sweating got worse, and since I don't like wearing a headband, I will buy Maxim wipes and hopefully they will reduce my head sweating. 🙂 -
Twinkle replied to the topic Where do you buy these devices? in the forum Iontophoresis Forum 10 years, 7 months ago
Many places to choose from. Usually you can find standard prices at official websites, and cheaper ones on websites like e-bay if you get lucky. When it comes to official sites, I think this is Hidrex manufacturer website, and this here is Idromed website. Yeah, I hope you can read German lol. Just kidding – you can switch the language to English…[Read more]

jessie started the topic ETS is risky? So why do people do it? in the forum Hyperhidrosis Surgery Forum 10 years, 7 months ago
There are whole websites out there (like no-ets.com for example) dedicated to convincing desperate hyperhidrosis sufferers to avoid ETS. This leaves me completely confused… If ETS is so risky and can have bad consequences, then why does anyone do it?
Or is this just a case of bad PR? Like, people who get happily cured leave the realm of online…[Read more]

Oh, I was just thinking of creating a thread about social anxiety, and then saw this…
I didn't take that test there. Is it about social anxiety or just general anxiety?
Ramona, did you learn anything useful from those test results?Anyone else here coping with anxiety along with hyperhidrosis?

Twinkle started the topic Can one have multiple Iontophoresis treatments simultaneously? in the forum Iontophoresis Forum 10 years, 7 months ago
Having hyperhidrosis in several body areas makes iontophoresis seem like a challenging treatment option, so I wondered if anyone does it? Is it doable in the long run?
If iontophoresis is so great, I would consider buying a device and all necessary accessories. If I do this, can I run iontophoresis to treat hands, feet and underarms…[Read more]
