Leb replied to the topic The Worst Type of Hyperhidrosis? in the forum Hyperhidrosis Forum 10 years, 5 months ago
I don’t think it’s really possible to ultimately answer your question. As you say yourself, everyone’s burden is the heaviest one to that particular person… And not every palmar hyperhidrosis is the same. Someone with very sweaty hands will have worse hyperhidrosis than the patient with mild axillary hyperhidrosis; but on the other hand,…[Read more]

Hi, Andrew, I’m glad to hear you have a good method of keeping hyperhidrosis at bay. 🙂
Is your electro antiperspirant the same as the one mentioned in this thread: http://hyperhidrosisnetwork.com/forums/topic/any-thoughts-on-iontophoresis-electro-antiperspirant/ ?
Does it work just like iontophoresis for sweaty hands, or is electro…[Read more]

Iontophoresis for sweaty hands was helping me cope with excessive sweat for a long time now, but after months and months of successful treatments, it appears that now it has stopped working. 🙁
I don’t mean the device – the iontophoresis machine itself seems to be as sturdy as ever – but my hands are no longer dry. Since sweaty hands make it so…[Read more]

Leb started the topic The Trouble With Mosquito Bites in the forum Antiperspirants Forum 10 years, 7 months ago
We have an awful lot of mosquitoes this year, and they seem to be having a real ‘thing’ for me. And my hands. Because my poor sweaty hands are (aside from my head) pretty much the only part of my body sticking out of the covers while I sleep. And to mosquitoes that’s a call to feast…
So, I’m using electric devices and mosquito repellants to…[Read more]

Please recommend me the best antiperspirant solution that can be used with iontophoresis.
I need something that is either created to be used in iontophoresis water during the treatment, or a random antiperspirant solution that can be used this way.
In case a type of device matters, I still have Hidrex PSP1000 with pulsed current. I use regular…[Read more]

This is something of a chicken or egg dilemma.
Here’s what I have been wondering: is palmar hyperhidrosis sometimes caused by poor peripheral circulation? Or are my hands cold because of hyperhidrosis? (After all, one of the main functions of sweat is to cool.)
My guess would be that my peripheral circulation is actually working too well, which…[Read more]

Leb started the topic Low-voltage current VS. High-voltage current in the forum Iontophoresis Forum 11 years, 3 months ago
Allegedly, low-voltage current used in Iontophoresis treatments over a longer periods of time is supposed to be more effective than high-voltage current used in shorter periods of time. I think this assumes shorter individual treatments as well as shorter overall therapy time (or in other words, less treatments.)
Did you hear about that? Are those…[Read more] -

No first-hand experience on my part, but I can tell you to look around the website and you’ll see that Drionic has a special device for treating axillary hyperhidrosis. From the photos, their armpit applicators look practical and easy to hold in place. If that’s the case, maybe the treatments are effective?
Well, that’s my two cents on this. 🙂

So I took a leap of faith and actually bought an iontophoresis machine!! And Hidrex PSP 1000 at that – the one I was writing about earlier in the summer. 😀 Anyway, it’s a used machine but is completely functional and as good as new. However, after two weeks of treatments I still have problems getting the best results with it, so I wanted to ask…[Read more]

Leb replied to the topic The best portable Iontophoresis device in the forum Iontophoresis Forum 11 years, 4 months ago
Isn’t Drionic even lighter? Like, it weighs 2 pounds or something like that? Drionic is also significantly cheaper than Idromed, so that’s another plus if you are on a tight budget. The quality is not quite top notch, but you could still get results. 🙂
I’m not an expert on this, though, so take my suggestions with a grain of salt. 🙂

Leb replied to the topic How to Play Video Games with Sweaty Hands in the forum Hyperhidrosis Forum 11 years, 5 months ago
This is really good. 😮 😀
I think the Internet is swamped with advices on playing video games with sweaty palms etc, but I think 90% of those advices simply tells people to use gloves, antiperspirants and other treatments… Basically it all comes down to good old “how to not sweat” instead of focusing on this specific situation. It’s…[Read more] -

I’m thinking I might buy an iontophoresis machine in the future. Since my experiences with iontophoresis weren’t perfect in the past and I can afford a good product, Hidrex iontophoresis machines look like a sound choice. I still haven’t decided on the exact model, but I’d love to hear your suggestions! 😀
Actually, I’m not even 100% sure I will…[Read more] -

She is a gymnast so she gets cracks and rips on her hands all the time they suggested putting petroleum jelly on it before treatment and that works like a charm.
This is interesting – I never thought of that! Covering my hands with petroleum jelly sounds like something that could ease the sensitivity of my skin too… Because, the more I think…[Read more]

Casper you’re a genious – I love the cooling gel packs tip! 💡 😀 Why on earth haven’t I thought of that??
Do you have any particular cooling gels to recommend?
I would like to try homemade gel packs and save money in the long run, but that’s probably not a good idea given that I don’t want to risk wet pockets or gels that will warm up…[Read more] -

I will definitely buy Sage tea asap!Iontophoresis is not for me, and antiperspirants are only partially effective. So, before I turn to more aggressive methods to stop sweating, I want to explore the alternative field. It’s all quite unknown to me. Also, I would love to hear about alternative treatments that work for palmar…[Read more]

Allegedly, Botox treatments that deal with sweaty hands can be very painful. Does anyone know about this firsthand? (Ouch, pun NOT intended!) Since hands have high concentration of nerves, the resulting pain seems likely. Apart from that, I wonder if there’s a risk of permanent nerve damage? 😐

As I just wrote in another topic, iontophoresis isn’t really my thing and this forced me to be resourceful and find other ways to fight it. I wish we could wear socks on our hands! My hands are too sensitive for this, which is a real pity. I had this type of hyperhidrosis treatment twice and didn’t like it. There was this uncomfortable tingling that freaked me out a little. Felt like I’m about to get electrocuted! 😕
