Hi Kate,
Welcome aboard. 🙂
Your approach sounds interesting! At a first glance, it seems to me that you are focusing on the fact that to cure hyperhidrosis, one must cure the general imbalance in the body. I will check the website. 🙂
I am into alternative treatments, and this looks like it could be something along that line… -

I ran into an ad with a used iontophoresis machine for sale, so here it is!
To me it looks like a good opportunity for Australians, who would otherwise have to order Fischer from the U.S. For other parts of the world, delivery costs might be too high… Do we even have any Aussie members? 🙂
Anyway, this thread can be a good place to post news…[Read more]

Looks like a lovely little gadget, but I failed to find any useful information on this online – I mean, couldn't find anything connecting it to hyperhidrosis or standard iontophoresis. Maybe it would be the best if you wrote to the company directly and asked them?
Also ask if there is a return money guarantee if the device doesn't help you! (That…[Read more] -

Here is the link to an old, but interesting study I found. It is about upper dorsal thoracoscopic sympathectomy and its effects on total amount of body perspiration. You don't have to read the whole study, the abstract itself is interesting enough.

So, what do you think? Do you know of any studies…[Read more]

Here we can talk about a lesser known natural remedy that helps with hyperhidrosis – Tea Tree Oil.
Good for treating sweaty feet, tea tree oil is renowned for its antifungal effect and the dryness it leaves on the skin. It needs to be carefully dosed to avoid irritation. Even despite this, irritation can occur with some people, after which you…[Read more] -

I can imagine this happening in cases where hyperhidrosis patient cannot recieve any other kind of (cheaper) treatment. Take for instance that someone's skin is too sensitive and cannot withold iontophoresis; that he has strong side effects of medication; that he's allergic to some ingredient in antiperspirants, and so on – you get what I…[Read more]

A couple of tips on how to keep your iontophoresis device free from rust and other nasty marks of wear and tear. 😉 Ran into this on another site and it seemed like a good idea to share it even if I'm not an iontophoresis expert myself.
– When you're done with the treatment, toss the water from the tubs and gently dry the tubs and the rest of the…[Read more]

No, to be honest I don't think I could drink sage tea without sugar. And as far as I know, you can add lemon to your tea – it won't do any harm and might improve the taste. 🙂
To drink hyperhidrosis tea without sweeteners, hmm – maybe you could try Hushed Sea or one of similar blends that use a mix of herbs + sage. In my experience they can be…[Read more]

I found some information on this online, and it seems fairly new (or at least I've never heard of it before!)
Apparently there is a way to apply Botox to palms with lasers – an alternative to the usual injections Botox treatments, and it should be equally effective in treating palmar hyperhidrosis.More information in the video.
While not…[Read more]

Melanie, I think the best ingredient in Hushed Sea tea is actually Sage. 😉 So we are basically using the same thing, with the difference that Hushed Sea also contains Valerian root, Astragalus and St Johns Wort. Buying Sage and making my own Sage tea is cheaper so that's why I opted for this in the long run – I drink a lot of it!
However, the…[Read more] -

Twinkle, you're not the only one, so don't feel silly. 😉 I think iontophoresis has quite a big reputation as a hyperhidrosis treatment for sweaty hands and feet… and that's about it. Never occurred to me that these machines also work on sweaty armpits. If they're really effective for axillary hyperhidrosis, I might get a Hidrex myself. Bye bye…[Read more]

Did you ever try Neutrogena sunscreen in spray? It seems to be made of sterner stuff… or at least I can use it successfully: it remains in place even when my head sweating gets bad. Naturally, I don't actually spray it on my face, but apply it with my fingers instead.
I'm sure there are other sunscreens tailored to endure excess sweat, though,…[Read more] -

That's an interesting experiment you did there Jenny, and I can agree that this conclusion makes sense – digestion warms up our bodies like an engine and we're likely to sweat more.
Still, please don't forget about that list of foods I put up there – because it is proven that some foods and drinks affect heavy sweating because of their chemical…[Read more]

Nearly ten years of hyperhidrosis later, it's about the same as it was in the beginning. Maybe it was even a little worse at the very start… Then stabilized after I hit twenty. The perks of leaving adolescence, I guess.
So, relax Jessie, I'm sure this is all very individual. If you lead a healthy life and nurture your confidence, I…[Read more]

I don't know anyone else – well maybe my aunt has a very mild hyperhidrosis, but she got used to it by now and she doesn't consider herself to have it. She doesn't like talking about it either. 😕
Seems to me that many people don't like talking about it. Everyone is doing their best to hide the fact they sweat too much. Tim and jessie, you have…[Read more]

I agree with Tim. And sweating a lot from your palms and feet specifically… looks like it might be hyperhidrosis. If that's the case, it will mean you have a combination of palmar and plantar hyperhidrosis. Of course, you will need to talk to your doctor to be certain.
In the meantime I hope this link will help…[Read more]
